New Computer!

Well, I am super excited today, because I just bought a new computer which I built myself.
I can finally run all the games and programs I have been wanting to for years now.

No more games on MINIMUM settings (still only getting about 8 frames a second…)

Now I am able to run games like Oblivion (for example) at MAX graphics and great frame rates!

I know this is just a very geeky post, but I just wanted to share my glee with everyone!

More on the new computer in the coming days.

America’s Got Talent is Back!

Well, my favorite summer time show is back!

The 2 hour premier for America’s Got Talent had some absolutely incredible auditions.

Two stick out in my mind in particular.

First, the rendition of “Somewhere” by Kaitlyn Maher.  I remember watching the movie “An American Tail” when I was a kid, and I just loved this song.  It has always been a song very close to my heart because I remember watching this with my Grandmother, and she used to sing it to me before she passed away.

Needless to say, I was truly touched by this performance.  My absolute favorite- I hope this girl does very well.

Secondly, the operatic “Nessun Dorma”, as sang by Neil E Boyd.

This song also has a very significant meaning to me.  This was my character’s theme song from “Anon(ymous)” which I have blogged about recently.

My murderous, butcher character “Mr. Zyclo” listens to Pavarotti singing “Nessun Dorma” during his entrance.  So I was very happy to see this talented fellow singing this song with such passion.  I wish him all the best for the rest of the competition!

I have very high expectations for this season, and in particular I cannot wait to see these two perform again!

Congratulations Boston Celtics

Let me say congratulations to the 2007-2008 NBA Champs, the Boston Celtics.

Truth be told, I despise the Celtics… But seeing as how the LA Fak…. LAKERS, were their opponents I was a huge fan for the last week or so!

As the time ticked down, and the Lakers got embarrassed by 39 points, a large part of me thought back to last summer when my hero Reggie Miller was contemplating a comeback with the Celtics.  A part of me wishes that Reggie had come back to get this ring, but in the end I am very glad he didn’t.  I would never want him to ruin his legacy as a lifetime Pacer, and he declined the option to join the Celts with dignity and respect.  I love Reg!

Anytime I get to see the Lakers get blown out, and Kobe walk off the court with that look of utter dejection on his face, that is a truly wonderful day for me!

So thank you, and congratulations Celtics!

On another note: I am truly happy for Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett, they are 2 of my favorite Non-Pacer players and I respect them both very much.  Good work!

New Blog Launched: “The Niche Store Journey”

Hello everyone.

Quick announcement.  As I talked about in my last post I have been devoting a large amount of time lately into a new venture… Niche Store Building/Marketing.

It has been a very fun ride so far, and I am very hopeful that it will become a good stream of income for me in the near future.

I have decided that posting here on the Tyler Michael Jonsson Blog about this business may not really fit the whole theme of this blog, so I have opted to create a new blog entitled: The Niche Store Journey

I will refrain in the future from posting too much about the Niche Store Building on this blog, but if it is of any interest to you I hope you will go and visit The Niche Story Journey and read up on my progress!

Summer has arrived!

Hello everyone, I wanted to take a few minutes to give a quick update as far as what I have been up to.

The last you heard from me, I was talking about the End of an Era in my life. Well the new era is now beginning, and while I am certainly going to miss the close-knit acting community I have been a part of the last 2 years, I know that I will never really leave it, but I just will not be around as much.

Now that my finals for school are over for spring semester (Kudos to me for getting an 87% on my math final!) I have some time to devote to some LONG overdue projects, namely web-site based projects.

As many of you have read on my recent posts and tweets, I am currently very involved with a product called “Build a Niche Store” (BANS for short). I am making several websites (hopefully many in the future) which will allow me to make some passive income off of Google search traffic and eBay’s affiliate program. It has been very hard and tedious work thus far, but it has also seen some moderate beginnings of success, and I know that once I put in more time and effort I will not regret it!

I am also currently working on a start up internet company which holds very personal importance to me. When I was a teenager, I lost my Grandmother to Alzheimer’s Disease (which was just reported to be the 6th leading cause of death in the US today). Ever since this horrible event, I have made it a personal goal in my life to make a difference in helping to find a cure for this terrible disease.

I believe I have finally found an avenue to allow me to do just that! CandlesforCure.com is the name of my new company which will be having its launch within the next month or so. The website will sell handmade (by yours truly!) candle products. A portion of the money made from the sales of these candles will be directly donated to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org)

I am very excited to launch Candles for Cure, because I am very passionate about the cause it is supporting, and hopefully it will be successful enough that it will help subsidize my living expenses, and benefit Alzheimer’s research… Talk about a win-win situation!

Lastly, I am hoping to get back into the swing of things with the Ask Gollum Podcast. I actually have some big news regarding the podcast, I now officially own the domain name www.AskGollum.com ! When I first started the podcast, someone else had the domain name registered, so I had to just make the website a subdomain of www.TylerMichaelJonsson.com . But recently the previous owner let the registration expire, and I swooped in and nabbed it! So I am hoping to “Re-Launch” the podcast on a new and improved web site design with all new content and episodes!

I understand this has been a lot of “What’s going on with me” type updates, and I appreciate you reading it through! If you have any questions about any of the projects I have listed here, by all means please e-mail me and we can talk about any of it. I will, of course, update the status of these projects regularly here on the main blog as well.

The End of an Era…

Hello everyone. As promised a couple days ago, today I will be posting what I am assuming will turn into a fairly lengthy post (you have been warned!) relating not only to the run of “Anon(ymous)”, but also the (likely) end of my acting career at the Citrus College Theatre Department.

If you want to hear some of the thoughts and feelings that have been whizzing around my brain these past few weeks, please read on!

Anon(ymous) Ends Run.

Just a quick update on this Memorial Day.  The play I have been blogging about the last 2 months, “Anon(ymous)”, ended its run Saturday night.  In the coming day or two, I plan to sit down and pour out all the emotions and thoughts that have resulted from this production in a blog post.  Be on the look out for that.  For now however, I will just say to my fellow cast members: It was an honor and a joy to work with you.  To any of you who were able to see the show: My sincere thanks for supporting us, and I hope that you were moved by the show.
